Iron Test Paper
For the rapid detection of iron ions (Fe2+ and Fe3+). In contrast to Dipyridyl paper it reacts with Fe(II) as well as Fe(III) ions. For the specific detection of Fe(II) please use Dipryidyl paper (code 90725).
Directions for use:
Apply a drop of the weakly mineral acid test solution (pH 1-2) to the Iron Test Paper. The presence of Fe ions is indicated by the appearance of a reddish-brown spot. Very high concentrations of iron or strongly acid solutions result in a bluish discolouration in the centre of the reaction spot. These discolourations turn reddish-brown upon treatment with 10% sodium hydroxide solution.
Store Iron Test Paper in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposure to sunlight and moisture.
